Backflow prevention devices are designed to stop pollutants from entering the potable water supply. Backflow refers to the reversal of the normal flow direction of the water and can happen for a number of reasons. Backflow prevention devices inhibit the flow of water in the opposite direction which will prevent contamination of the water supply.
