The time between taking the sample and performing the test is called the “holding time”. The maximum holding time for a water sample depends on the tested parameter. Some parameters such as aluminium, copper or lead have holding times up to one month, whereas pH, conductivity or alkalinity can significantly change within 30 minutes or less.
